Our petition has a lot of comments, and I am going to share them with you!  If you are affiliated with the case, or you are part of the LMPD – then these are the people who DEMAND justice for Andrew Compton and his family!  Here is what they have to say:

Andrew deserves a place to rest in peace where his loves one can visit him & know hi is save … let’s bring him home …. everyone deserves a place to rest in peace.

I think that is awful, and even though it has been quite awhile I think they should still find his body.

Law enforcement should never give up on these case’s what so ever. We had a saying in the Marine Corps, never leave one behind, if you do”,, then we have already lost the war. Don’t forget nor leave behind the fallen folks. We have to look out for one another if we don’t who will? Let’s find Andrew.

As a mother of three sons I can’t imagine one of mine missing and certainly couldn’t stand knowing no one was searching ….please continue search…bring Andrew home!!!

So if Andrew Compton was the Chief of Police’s son, how long would the police department look for him in the landfill??

His family and all his friends deserve closure. Andrew needs to be brought home close to his family.

Such a horrendous thing to happen to such a good person. How can the police sleep at night knowing the pain and suffering his family is going through?

This is absolutely unacceptable. The search must be resumed. We cannot give up on finding a fellow human being. We live in the greatest country in the world whose greatest asset is its people. Each one of is valuable. When we refuse to continue to search, we lessen our value as a people. Please resume the search to find Andrew! It’s the right thing to do!

If it was my son I would be out there every day till we found him, I cant belive the cops stop only after 9 days.

This young man deserves to be found. His family deserve to be able to lay him to rest properly. Most of all, if we don’t find him, that man who hurt him may not be punished as he should be. Andrew is a person and he deserves dignity and justice.

Please keep looking. This is someone’s child. This is a real person.

A boy all alone is missing. Dead or not it is the job of the police to find him and take him home to his family. I hope the search resumes and they find him.

I live in England so I cannot join in the search in person. The police are there to help those who can’t help themselves. If no body was found then maybe it’s because there wasn’t anything to find there. What about looking further afield? Resume the search and maybe the family can rest at ease.

This child needs to be brought home.

I think that is a shame that the police gave up so soon.

I began attending Sullivan University in 2006 when I was 24, finished in 2008. My time there was filled with so much love and friendship, notably with the 18 year old kids. Andrew was a “first quarter”. HE IS ONE OF OUR OWN, and it breaks my heart that the LMPD just QUIT. I stop and think, What if this had happened to one of MY kids? I cannot even imagine the torment it is for the students who studied along side him, and the agony his family has gone through.

My heart goes out to the family of this young man. I pray they find the body of this little boy. He deserves a proper burial. Every one does. God bless.

Do not stop searching for Andrew until he is found.

This family brought Andrew to Lousiville to fulfill a dream of becoming a chef…….and all they got what a nightmare….please help find this young mans body so this family can have some kind of closure!!!!!!

Please do whatever you have to do to find Andrew Compton’s body. Every family deserves to at least have their son’s remains. It may be easy to just say, “Oh he’s dead, so let’s move on” but that is not the right thing to do for his family.

Please find this boy. He deserves a desent burial. He is a human being and not a disguarded animal. His family deserves a closure and Gregory needs to burn in Hell.

This family needs to have Andrew found so that they will actually know if he is dead or alive. If the whole landfill was not searched, how do they justify stopping? Andrew could still be there in a part they didn’t get to yet! And if he is not found after a thorough search, then he may be alive somewhere.

Hope they do continue search and find out where he is.

His family deserves the closure and to have his body returned to them. They need to continue searching for this boy!

How can we give up on Andrew? I would never give up hopes of finding ANYONE that is MISSING!!!!!

If this was an officers child,you can bet they would still be looking…All missing people should have the right to be found….this is just wrong,not wanting to find this young man,he is a human being an has a family that loves him..he deserves to be found and for his family t have some kind of closure…Shame on Louisville Metro Police dept.

Andrew deserves to be found. His family more than deserves to have full closure on this. Stopping the search only after 9 days was bs just because they caught the cold hearted killer does not mean the case is closed. We need to find Andrew no matter what it takes. Andrew was a great person and I’m glad I got the chance of knowing Jim. He is forever in all of our hearts.

This is not an issue that should be up for debate. This is something that needs to be done. It should have been done months ago. Please bring peace to this family and find him.

This story has broken my heart since the beginning,although I don’t know the Compton’s personally…I had hoped that they would find closure or that Andrew would be found.As for the LMPD,if this was your child that was missing, would it still be acceptable that a human life was discarded like trash?He is someone’s son, brother,cousin,grandchild…don’t they deserve closure of some kind? Doesn’t Andrew deserve to rest in peace and not in a pile of garbage?

I am so sorry that this happened. I hope they will allow the search to continue.

As a parent of a Sullivan student in Louisville I would want to be able to put my child to rest properly. Please resume his search and allow the family and students to heal.

It’s unacceptable to not continue the search. He wasn’t looked for long at all! The family deserves closure!

I can not begin to imagine loosing a friend or family member in the way John, Angela and Derik have over the last year. I stand behind the family and community in the efforts to prompt officials to resume the search for Andrew. If there is anything I can do for the family, please contact me.

The heartbreak continues no matter what. But peacefulness is challenged by doubts. Please resume the search, for peace and justice.

Each person involved in this case should think about ….what if this was their child?

Andrew Compton, a human being, deserves more than just being written off as “another teenager dead.” The police should not stop until he is found and/or accouted for. Resume the search and bring in whatever specialized equipment that is needed until Andrew is found.
