My New Love For Rugby, Gareth Thomas

My New Love For Rugby, Gareth Thomas

Gareth Thomas (born 25 July 1974), known as Alfie, is a retired Welsh professional rugby footballer who played rugby league for the Crusaders RL in the Super League. He also previously played rugby union for the Cardiff Blues and Wales as a fullback, wing or centre. Now, I have watched a bunch of Rugby games in my day, but only for one thing – it’s more fucking hot than American football.

Let the haters commence.

The other reason why I love Rugby so much, is because it’s a sport that seems to have controversy surrounding it with it’s male bonding, and naked initiations into the teams.  Yes, boys will be boys – when it comes to sportsmanship.  Gareth Thomas is no exception, and around 2009 Thomas came out of the closet as an openly gay man, and woah…. thank you Jesus!

The coming out part wasn’t as easy as it seems, because Gareth was married before finally admitting that he was homosexual.

Thomas was born in Sarn near Bridgend. In August 2001, he married Jemma, whom he met when both were teenagers. The couple married in St Brides Major, near Bridgend, and filed for divorce in 2007; it was finalized in 2009. During the marriage, Jemma suffered three miscarriages.

In December 2009 Thomas announced publicly that he is gay. He told the Daily Mail, “I don’t want to be known as a gay rugby player. I am a rugby player, first and foremost I am a man”. Thomas’ public confirmation of his sexuality made him the first openly gay professional rugby union player. In an interview with the BBC, Thomas talked about how he hoped that his coming out would mean that in the future, young gay rugby players would be able to come out and be accepted as a “talented gay rugby player”. Thomas also said, “What I choose to do when I close the door at home has nothing to do with what I have achieved in rugby”. Since coming out, Thomas has become a vocal supporter of the British charity ChildLine, a telephone counselling service for children and young people.[19] In an interview, Thomas commented, “I don’t know if my life is going to be easier because I’m out, but if it helps someone else, if it makes one young lad pick up the phone to ChildLine, then it will have been worth it”. For those of you who like EYE CANDY, Gareth provides it!  Check out this photo which leaves well…. at least six or seven inches to your imagination:

Yeah, we know, you want to see more and so do I.  In fact, it makes me want to head on over to Wales and lay on his front step until he takes me in as his personal house boy.  I can also do yard work, personal massage, and sometimes I can even be coaxed into more.  Actually, I don’t take much coaxing…. um, actually – normally I am just down for it whenever.

So, of course you want more pics of this hunky man so please have a glance at the photos in the gallery below, and enjoy:

Indeed if anyone is going to Wales in the next couple of days, weeks, or months – please let me hitch a ride with you.  I don’t eat much, because I am saving my appetite for when I meet Gareth. :)
