I usually start my rants with some scathing reminder of what idiots exist in the World, and then allow my readers to smirk at my snide comments and jargon.  This is not one of those letters, because I don’t want to give much power to a washed up teen icon.  I pulled a photo of Kirk from the horrid TV show “Growing Pains,” which started it’s TV pollution back in 1985 when Kirk made girls scream in the studio audience just by walking on the damn set.

The show was described best on IMDB as:

Anyway, so after the show finally collapsed under the weight of disgruntled viewers who had enough of the 80′s television sanitation Kirk Cameron went on a journey to become a “Christian.”  There are two kinds of Christian people:  1. The kind that I can tolerate, and associate with, and be accepted AS.  2. The kind like Kirk Cameron who want to discriminate, and basically “ascend from as greater than,” through their Christian status – while talking out of both sides of their mouths.

Kirk talks about being a sinner, and how he is not above being a person who sins – but he sits on a TV show and points out that not only is he against gay marriage, but that “It’s unnatural, it’s detrimental and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.”  Huh?  Kirk, what was unnatural is the person who did your wardrobe in the 80′s, I mean seriously.  On a more realistic and less “cheap shot” of a level (albeit hard for me) how the fuck would you know?  Straight people who are homophobic crack me up, because they talk in circles like they are the premiere experts in “what it is like to be a gay person,” and then act like it’s “no big deal to identify the problem and take care of it.”  This isn’t a roach infested bathroom, it’s a sexual preference.  That is why you are not waking up in the morning, yawning, and then walking to the kitchen to grab you a bowl of man on man anal sex.  YOU AREN’T GAY –  BUT I AM.

“Destructive to so many foundations of civilization….”  this makes me laugh.  So two dudes or ladies decide to love each other, and that sets off some strange sequence of events in the Universe which hurls our society into a deep throated black hole from which we cannot recover?  If anything Kirk, homosexuality wouldn’t be responsible for that – but re-runs of “Growing Pains” may just end it for us all.

I just want to say that this is all a beautifully designed marketing scheme for Kirk, who has a MARRIAGE TOUR called “Love Worth Fighting For,” which are around $20 bucks for general admission.  However, if you want an autograph and to meet Kirk … “VIP tickets includes front of autograph line and pre concert Q&A with Kirk at 5:15PM (VIP doors at 5:00pm)” are for sale.

Marketing against gays to deliver people to your website to promote a “Marriage” tour, and to bring in extra cash for your “Financial Pains,” well – that makes more sense to me.

Shame on you Mike Seaver!
