Fuel MPG for iPhone 3GS Gives Accurate Results

1999_chevrolet_malibu_ls_alexandria_pa_96635160745078083I drive a 99 Chevy Malibu, and it’s really not my friend.  I deserve a Mustang for all the work I do, but for some reason I can’t afford one so I am stuck with the ongoing love and joy for my Malibu.

It’s green, at one time was a good car, but now it leaks and loves to light up scary sensors for no reason just for exhaling too hard.  I really want a Mustang.

There is an iPhone app I stumbled across the other day that really caught my eye, called FUEL MPG, which helps people like me instantly see their miles per gallon in a straight forward way.  I fill up, hop in my car, and launch the app. I plug in the odometer reading, the price of the gas, and how many gallons and I am off.  The application will tell me the following tidbits of information, which for my car are a wake up call that I really need a Mustang:

Date of Fueling Distance Traveled, Fuel Price ($/Gallon), Miles Per Gallon (MPG), Total Cost in $ – none of which I am going to share with you out of sheer embarrassment.  The app in itself is useful for people like me and for fuel efficient folks, who want to get the most for their money.  Gone are the days where we could let a few pennies go un-pinched, and now we have to pinch everything just to make ends meet.  FUEL MPG will give you SOLID ACCURATE DATA to understand what your actual fuel costs are.

This application is compatible with: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

A lot of people, like myself, are surprised to see this fuel tracking app free on the iStore, but it is – and with good reason, it works well and is a much needed necessity to so many who need to reevaluate their routes to work, consider carpooling, or cut costs in other ways to make everything fit.  In this day and age, an app like this is worth it’s weight in GOLD.
