Animal Explorer Android App Takes Kids On An Animal Adventure

animalexplorer

Animal Explorer for Android is an adventure that your kid (or even you animal lovers) are certain to enjoy!  The application runs both as a lite (limited) version, and a full version for 99 cents.  The app itself is appealing in many ways, first and foremost I have a five year old Nephew and he LOVES animals.  From the time he could …. well, from the time he was old enough to start going outside in a cute little hat and be pushed around in a stroller, we were going to our local Zoo.

He is a bit older now, and one of the things he LOVES to do more than anything is play games on cell phones, and this one was a bit hit! I bought the full version of Animal Explorer for my Nephew to play, because we had a couple hours to spare.  The music is cute and crunchy, like a cartoon, and the screen opened to reveal some binoculars, a hippo, and a trophy.  We chose the explore function first (the binoculars) to see what would happen, and we were given the option to visit different habitats.  There was:  Pets and Farm, Sea and Ocean, Desert, Forest, Grassland, Rainforest, Wetlands, and Ice Cap!  Of course we are going to go right to “Pets and Farm,” because my Nephew loves visiting his Nan-Nan’s farm!  Off we went!  We were greeted by a beautiful photo of a horse, and a person said the name of the horse.  Next came a barn owl, dog, and even some sheep!  If we wanted the voice to repeat the animal’s name, we just hit the speaker button.  My Nephew loved this!

what

Pressing the home button we returned to the habitats, and then pressing the back button we went into the PLAY mode!  This is the big hippo icon, and we went to play the game.  We could only start with “Pets and Farm,” because the other levels were locked, and so we went right into playing!  A photo of an animal came up on the screen with two choices to select from, and we were asked “what animal is this?”  It was clearly a parrot, so we chose parrot over the dog! We got a star!  This means we were able to get another animal photo, with two choices to identify! After getting all the animals right we got all of our stars, and we were celebrated by a whooo-hooo!  NICE!

lock

This unlocked the next level of the game for us, and we had a blast checking out the real animal photos and quizzing ourselves on what kind of animal they were!  There are even awards you can earn for playing the game, like being a “Pet & Farm” expert – which we got at 100%!

What is the difference between the premium version and the lite version? The premium version has 139 animals and 8 habitats, while the free trial version only has around 30 animals.  It’s well worth it to get the premium version, especially for young kids because this app really has a lot of animal identifiers and has an easy to use interface for young hands.

I enjoyed this app, it was a ton of fun and I know if you have young kids you will as well!  Pick up the app on Google Play, and enjoy a trip into the world of many many beautiful animals!
