Any self-starter should always have their hands full, and Jake Wheat loves to take on new and exciting challenges! Wheat has Produced several events, musical CD compilations, and even theatrical productions! Below are some examples of his work:
STOMP OUT CANCER VOLUME ONE CD:
Stomp Out Cancer, Inc. is a non-profit charity I started with Sheila Mackin & Family, when her son (my friend) Steven passed away from Ewing’s Sarcoma in 2006.
We started the charity with a musical CD release that was self-titled, which contained a compilation of Independent musical artists a from all over the world. The proceeds we earned from the sale of this CD went to the John Hopkins Sarcoma Research Center, under the care of Dr. David Loeb. This wonderful CD began an annual tradition – which has grown more and more each year. [Click Here To Buy On iTunes]
STOMP OUT CANCER VOLUME TWO CD:
Stomp Out Cancer Volume 2 “Hope” was released the following year, along side of a silent auction/dance fund raiser that allowed us to pay John Hopkins $5,000.00 for their ongoing research for Ewing’s Sarcoma.
The dance/silent auction was a HUGE success, allowing us to continue to make a difference in the ONE child or young adult each day that is diagnosed with this disease. This CD was dedicated to a young man named Ben Lanman who battled Ewing’s Sarcoma, and was in remission from the disease thanks to the care and medical treatment by John Hopikins Medical Center. THE WAVERLY HILLS SANATORIUM AUDIO EXPERIENCE CD:
The Waverly Hills Sanatorium Audio Experience CD was a project that I released in 2005, which is an 80 minute audio tour of one of the most haunted locations in the United States.
As the narrator, I take you on a full tour giving you historical information, ghost stories, and experiencing paranormal activity myself. It was a chilling experience to have, and the CD has received RAVE reviews! This recording has been featured on numerous podcasts, and has been the subject of many resources for various paranormal investigations at Waverly Hills Sanatorium. [Click Here To Buy On iTunes]
EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL THEATRICAL PRODUCTION:
In June of 2009, I decided to Produce the off-broadway smash hit “Evil Dead: The Musical,” based off of the cult cinematic hit with the same title from the 1980’s.
The show required the Production team to not only put together a musical, but we also were tacked with the task of building a new theatre to load the show into.
The Alley Theater’s first production became a hit show in Louisville, Kentucky – and “Evil Dead: The Musical” became one of my all time favorite projects. It was a proud moment for me to be able to look around at laughing audience members, and know that I created something that made people happy!
Evil Dead: The Musical received RAVE reviews from various media sources, and I have placed some links below for you to read if you would like!
